SRAM Corporation is proud to announce the acquisition by Avid LLC. Avid LLC has been a true innovator in brake system design and manufacturing for the bicycle industry over the past decade. SRAM’s acquisition of Avid marks a significant milestone for both SRAM as well as the Avid brand. We are excited about the potential? Stan Day, President and CEO at SRAM Corporation. The brand has grown tremendously and is now strong. SRAM now offers cutting-edge brake components that complement our drivetrain systems. We aim to be a complete component supplier for the bicycle industry. Our commitment is made possible by the use of avid brake systems. ?
Avids’ current suppliers will continue to be the manufacturing partner. These suppliers will receive support from SRAM engineering and manufacturing resources, if necessary.
Wayne Lumpkin (founder and President of Avid) will continue to manage Avid operations during the MY05 production ramp-up. Then, he will move to an advanced role in SRAM’s development group. Wayne will be based out of Denver and work closely alongside our Colorado Springs development team. SRAM Corporation is thrilled about Avid’s inclusion in the SRAM product line. We believe that Avid and SRAM have outstanding potential for product development and industry business opportunities.
